instalace (tisk na forexu, polystyrén, dřevo), různé rozměry
The installation Blue Screen for Brokoff was part of a large exhibition entitled Černá a bílá ve fotografii / Black and White in Photography (Colloredo-Mansfeldský palác, 2016). The exhibition provided an overview of Brousil’s research to date into the relationship between photography as a medium and colonialism. The installation found its prototypes in the baroque sculptures of Moors by Ferdinand Maxmilian Brokoff. Brousil transforms detailed shots of the stone sculptures into polystyrene objects and creates a monumental spatial constellation. By fragmenting and decontextualising the sculptures, Brousil draws attention to the different ideological readings of the images.
