One hundred photos depicting tombstones

of one hundred people, who died at ages between

one and one hundred years (the latter being the

age everyone in Italy wishes you to reach on your

birth-day). Achieving this project has been a

unique experience. In order to find every tombstone

necessary to complete my work, I spent

hours and hours, every day, for weeks, in a cemetery

in Rome. It was an intense, direct way to get

in touch with life’s questions. A physical and mental

experience.
