5 painting/sculpture objects
For me it is very important that these dripping painting-objects are part of the space and, at the same time, the observer can pass through the space of the painting. They do not work from one side only, from one point of view, stuck to the wall, as is usually the case with paintings. This time, the place where we would normally expect to see a canvas and the main image of the painting is empty. Our attention is shifted to a different part of the object. In technical terms, my work can be described as wooden frames on which primed canvas is tightly stretched. The canvas is painted a certain colour and I then create dripping bands on it using drops of paint. I am interested in the construction of the frames and how one can work with them in a given interior. They can be hung on the wall like a painting, they can be erected freely in space like a
sculpture or they can be pushed up to the wall like furniture.
