Krištof Kintera už od počátku studií patřil mezi nejvýraznější osobnosti nejmladší generace. Prvním výrazným projektem je TO z roku 1996. Tento „domácí mazlíček“ z lakovaného laminátu se stal Kinterovým nerozlučným přítelem, provázel ho na nákupech, v metru, prostě všude, kam jeho pán zavítal. Předznamenal většinu principů, které se v Kinterově tvorbě objevují dodnes: nápaditý objekt vtahujícího autora i diváka do jiného (trochu posunutého) světa. Propojení vlastního života s fiktivní „osobou“ rozvíjí Kintera i ve své další práci Plumbař (1995-1998). Jedná se znovu o komplexní dílo zahrnujícím akci, její dokumentaci, jednotlivé objekty, ale i celkovou instalaci. Propojení výtvarného umění, performance a divadelní scénografie je typickým momentem pro samostatnou Kinterovu tvorbu i pro akce a divadelní představení Jednotky, jejíž je vůdčí osobností. Jednotka je otevřenou tvůrčí buňkou, která od roku 1992 uskutečnila řadu performancí a akcí happeningového rázu. Ty pak postupně přerostly ve vizuální a multimediální představení na pomezí experimentálního divadla.
Mezi další díla, která upoutala svou výjimečností patří bezesporu Spotřebiče (1997-1998) a Mluviči (1999). Spotřebiče mají dokonalý tvar přizpůsobený lehké manipulaci, vypadají krásně a výkonně, jediný problém je, že jsou k ničemu. Jsou to opravdu jen spotřebiče spotřebovávající energii. Ve výloze obchodu jsou však jejich mimikry dokonalé, vypadají velice lákavě a svou vysokou cenou na sebe upozorňují. Nabízí se metafora, že podobně je tomu i s uměním. Přemýšlení o povaze umění, života a systému konzumní společnosti Kintera rozehrává i v Mluvičích. I následující objekty a instalace se odvíjejí od těchto témat, ať už se jedná o pohyblivou nákupní tašku (I’am Sick of It All!, 2003), kopulující vrtačku s vysavačem (Conflict of interests, 2004) nebo malého chlapečka mlátícího hlavou o zeď (Revolution, 2005). Všechna Kinterova díla jsou technicky náročné objekty, které se pohybují, mluví, kouří se z nich nebo jiskří. Autor se pečlivě věnuje nejen jejich vzhledu, funkci, sdělení, ale i jejich mechanice.
